Nextbase 522GW review

The 522GW is very similar to the £20 cheaper 422GW, gaining a bigger touchscreen and adding a polarising filter. If those are on your wishlist, it's worth the extra, but for most people, the 422GW is just as good.

Good start, but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dash cam is nicely made, easy to install with simple instructions and easy to assemble. Unfortunately, it only reads for 3 minutes on a loop! To save a reading, you must press a button - that could be difficult if you’ve had an accident and need the footage as evidence. No SIM card was supplied, so had to order online which took a few days to arrive and at extra cost. The helpline did not answer the phone when I rang with a question - it just played music constantly. If the helpline had answered my call instead of leaving me for too long, they might’ve been able to answer my simple question which in turn might’ve made my review more positive.

Good quality product, a must for all car owners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setting up the dash cam was very easy and straight forward. The build quality is great and the features in this model are up to date and everything we would need. The video quality is full HD unlike some dash cams available and I could easily transfer this to my PC for safe keeping. The video for the screen quality is clear even at night time. Overall a very good quality product that serves its purpose perfectly. We would have no issues recommending this to our friends and family and it gives a good feeling knowing that the dash cam will do what it is meant to and provide good quality video footage should we require it.

Great Dash Cam

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great dash cam with 140 degree viewing angle and 3 inch screen. It allows a great view but also compact enough not to clutter the dash board. Easy to view images. The quality of pictures and sound are clear and precise. I live in a busy area with free for all parking and this gives me peace of mind should someone bump into my car. The intelligent parking activates when your car is hit and records for 30 seconds from there. With Alexa you can play music, place calls and get directions all on the move. You can also ask for dash cam footage to be sent to your phone. The emergency SOS,when linked to your phone alerts the emergency services and also gives your location in the event if an accident. Apart from allowing me to concentrate on the road, this dash cam gives me peace of mind on so many levels.

Amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an amazing dashcam, recording in HD giving amazing quality playback. It's actually really cool having the dashcam because you just feel that little bit safer should anything happen. There are so many features, such as Alexander voice command and SOS which contacts the emergency services should you have ana accident. Is compatible with iPhone and android mobiles and is really easy to transfer the videos straight across to your mobile. I absolutely love this!

Great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed by the Nextbase dash cam! I thought it was very easy to use and very quick to charge up! It was easy to attach to the windscreen with a few different ways to attach provided and the video quality was fantastic for such a small device! I was impressed by how easy it was to use and the touch screen makes it even easier. I think this will be a great addition to my daily drives!

Nextbase 522GW Dash Cam Review

The Nextbase 522GW ($259.99) has a few more features than your average dash cam. Of course, it's useful for keeping a record of your trips about town (in case of an accident) or to record views from your car across an epic road trip. But it also includes support for Alexa voice commands, has a parking mode to roll video while you're away from the car, and, with a subscription, an SOS Emergency mode to call for help. We also like its thoughtful touches such as a polarizing filter to cut through windshield glare. That said, it costs a few dollars more than our Editors' Choice winner for dash cams, the Garmin 66W.Nextbase 522GW Interface and Setup The Nextbase 522GW’s 3-inch display is one of the largest we've seen and has convenient touch controls. But this also means it blocks more of your view, and we found its power cord attachment to be frustrating. You also need to buy a memory card to save video, as there's no internal storage. It supports microSD media, which is plentiful and...

The Nextbase 522GW dash cam is pricey, but it offers excellent video quality, a large touch screen, Amazon Alexa capability, and an SOS Emergency mode that could save your life.

Crisp video recording; Unique Emergency SOS feature; Alexa voice control; Parking mode; Sturdy mount

Frustrating power cord connection and flimsy, unconnected port covers; Requires a memory card
