Excellent network controls make up for a bumpy start. Design Specifications Setup Features Security Performance Bottom Line

Single USB port, Only four 10/100/1000 wired ports, Security requires additional subscription, High price, Setup drudgery

Netgear Nighthawk WiFi 6 Gaming Router (XR1000) XR1000-100AUS review

The Netgear Nighthawk XR1000 is a Wi-Fi 6 router designed for gaming. It delivers solid throughput and file transfer performance, but it's missing a few features you’ll find on similarly priced models.

Easy to install, Gamer-friendly operating system, Solid throughput performance in testing, Fast file transfer speeds

Pricey, Lacks multi-gig LAN port, Doesn't support link aggregation, Anti-malware tools cost extra

Nighthawk XR1000

The overall product is very light and run quiet and cool. I can run many WiFi devices at once with little interruptions. So far, I haven’t noticed a significant increase in my ping at all. Gaming seems to be about the same as it was with my old router. (Linksys WRT 1900 ACS) WiFi speeds are faster to all my devices, Ethernet cable is about the same. The nighthawk xr1000 seems to be a reasonable deal. It’s not over priced, it does it’s job, and is worth a try. Don’t expect it to magically make your ISP better. I have charter and I believe your ping only ends up being as good as your isp will give you.
