Purchased this switch for an adhoc network, but had trouble connecting to the switch for any configuration. I tried to use the Netgear Smart Control Center and a browser, however, the switch would constantly drop my connection. Look elsewhere.

Good Product
Works as advertised for a really cheap cost! Has a high pitched ring that comes and goes but being in a server room don't really care. Thanks again!
See above line I and line 2. It works as advertised

I Would like 2 but I can only afford 1
At first I thoughts "oh well" ill just turn this into a "dumb" switch, not use vlans and all will be well. Wrong the default port setting is to strip the vlan tag from the packet and this is not changeable. This cannot be turned into a dumb switch with the current firmware.
Price
Be mindful if you are buying this to use vlans; Do your homework this is not a 802.1q switch; The vlans are port based and as a result you cannot use them for voip phones that have data connections too, that use separate vlans on the same port.
Affordable price for a 48 port switch!
I received this product dead on arrival. I spend hours trying to make it work, thinking I was too stupid to figure it out since this was my first Gigabit switch.
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Easy To Set Up; Fast; Reliable
Noisy
I love this switch. It works as advertised. The management features are agreat. The only issue is how loud the ambient noise it produces. I mean it is very loud and is meant to be installed in a phone closet.
management features
very loud ambient noise
The Netgear 48 Port Switch was very easy to configure and overall network bandwith has increased. Great Product!
