Xbox One S Review

I've been using the Xbox One S for a while now, and it's become clear that Microsoft has a winner on its hands. Not just because the device is better than its predecessor – and less expensive.

Reasonably sized - far smaller than Xbox One; Controller further perfected over Xbox One; Plays all Xbox One games; 4K video output; Ultra HD gaming upscaling

True 4K gaming isn't quite here yet; Kinect needs adapter to connect; Not a replacement for Xbox One (that'll come next year

Microsoft Xbox One S

The new, streamlined Microsoft Xbox One S is smaller than the original Xbox One console, comes with a redesigned controller, and can play Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.

Ultra HD Blu-ray playback; Smaller footprint; Increased storage options; Redesigned gamepad features a headset jack

4K video streaming not yet available; Games aren't upconverted to 4K; No Kinect

Xbox One S review

Xbox One S is the pinnacle of what Microsoft set out to create with the original Xbox One. Despite releasing more than three years ago, the One S is everything a game console should be: sleek, powerful and well-stocked. It's not quite at Xbox One X's level in terms of performance, but the Xbox One S makes a compelling argument in how it balances power and price point.

Vastly reduced physical footprint; 4K & HDR streaming; HDR gaming;

Needs adapter for Kinect; 4K gaming limited to upscaling

Microsoft Xbox One S

This is more like it. The Xbox One S is the version of the console that Microsoft should've first released back in 2013 instead of the lumbering beast that we got. It's better in a number of ways, making it even more of a worthy alternative to Sony's PlayStation 4 .

The Xbox One S is a slick looking game console that's 40 percent smaller than the original and ditches the infamously gigantic power brick; It can display 4K video from streaming services and Ultra HD Blu-rays, and supports HDR contrast on video and games.

4K, Ultra HD Blu-ray and HDR settings only work with newer TVs, and may require some trial and error; The updated controller feels cheaper than its predecessor; Project Scorpio, the more powerful Xbox One successor, arrives in late 2017

Thanks to new software, more compact hardware and an excellent pack-in controller, the Xbox One S feels like a worthy successor to the older Xbox 360. If you already have an Xbox One, however, there's little reason to upgrade unless you're also planning on buying a 4K TV (or already own one).

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Limited Edition Review

While the Xbox One S is an amazing console, it just doesn't have a place, as it's such an incremental improvement. You should probably wait for Scorpio to get bigger changes.

Honest to god, I'd be lying if I didn't say this wasn't beautiful. Amazing gradient, this Xbox can also fit in a medium/large backpack. If you want to start your entry into the Xbox family, or you just want a smaller unit and don't have the money for an X, get this thanos boi that's on sale.

Works well, but instructions..

Console functions as it should, but the instructions are seriously lacking, ambiguous, and vague. *Especially frustrating was the ambiguity about how to actually get the bundled Fortnite initiated without buying a membership. If I had it to do over, Id buy it without a game.

Pleanty of space. Little pricie still.

Since we have a lot of 360 games and waited for this to up grade, yes we would re buy. Not sure any of these consoles are up to best expectations. With dedicated processor and huge storage we were expecting more from games on 4 G ultra tv.

Slick size, quick set up, intuitive, plays blue rays, has cortana; Most games now play off unit

Pricie; Slug at down loads; Not a lot of high definition 4G valued games yet; Comes with one controller
