Xbox One S All-Digital Edition review

The Xbox One S All-Digital looks and performs like its predecessor – minus the disc drive. It's more convenient for those who are happy to do away with physical discs, offering plenty of space for digital downloads, but struggles to live up to its price tag.

1TB hard drive; Three games included; More convenient; 4K & HDR streaming;

Price tag isn't justifiable; Not for those who prefer discs; Looks the same as the Xbox One S

Xbox One S review

Xbox One S is the pinnacle of what Microsoft set out to create with the original Xbox One. Despite releasing more than three years ago, the One S is everything a game console should be: sleek, powerful and well-stocked. It's not quite at Xbox One X's level in terms of performance, but the Xbox One S makes a compelling argument in how it balances power and price point.

Vastly reduced physical footprint; 4K & HDR streaming; HDR gaming;

Needs adapter for Kinect; 4K gaming limited to upscaling

Xbox One S All-Digital Edition review: Digital delight or slipped disc?

Switching to digital-only makes sense when Xbox itself is moving more towards an online future, with its Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud services. However, the real reason for the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition to exist is to offer a cheaper alternative, and while you can buy the standard machine for roughly the same we can't see you choosing this over its drive-donning brother.

Simple entry to the world of Xbox; Comes with everything you need; Three free games in the box; Very quiet operation;

Not quite cheap enough to justify dropping the disc drive; Xbox UI is still clunky; Xbox One S with drive is a similar price;

My son loves his new Xbox.

The features are awesome, no more broken or scratched discs anymore for my son.

Perfect for its value

Most if not all games are digital now. Play what you want and when you want it. I like this console, it's quieter, lighter and with a built in 1TB hard drive. And option to add additional storage. I hate discs, i like to just switch games like bam bam bam! LET'S PLAY! )

Good once you get used to it but...

I am enjoying using the new xbox all digital, but I have two gripes with it:- 1. it is a very slow processor, I can see why the serious gamers are forced to go for the bigger more expensive model.

As expected. No discs are a plus!

I love that this doesn't have discs that we have to keep up with. No more discs not in cases, scratched discs, broken discs, and storing cases. It seems like it has plenty of storage. My only complaint is that it takes DAYS to completely download games with our slow internet connection.
