Microsoft seem to have (inadvertently!) created a ripper laptop....ticked all the boxes for me! Tried all major brands (Lenovo, Dell, Asus, HP....) none got even close to the price range for this config! A big thanks to the sales girl and the manager at the Camberwell VIC store who went out of their way to make the trip worthwhile.

My team and I have used various Surface devices over the past few years and each new model is a step up from the previous one. The laptop is a great device for those who need lightness and mobility combined with a powerful machine. It works well and looks good but most of all it's just easy to use. The facial recognition makes startup so easy, the single magnetic attachment for the docking station makes it easy to move from office to home and back. When it's running, it's quick and responsive. Some of our team who make use of tablets prefer the Surface Pro, some who need dedicated graphics use the Surface Book but those of us who want something light, portable and powerful use the Surface Laptop.

The platinum Surdface 4 looks great and functions superbly. Love the touchscreen and the touchpad. The 15 inch screen means a good size keyboard, not as good as a full desktop keyboard and lacks a dedicated numerical pad. But its light. Also Microsoft has made downloads easier so I installed Office with relative ease. No PDF reader so I advise visiting the online Microsoft shop and downloading a PDF app for free. I've yet to decide if I will buy a mouse - would be useful for doing spreadsheets.

I bought this gorgeous laptop on the weekend after having used a Surface Pro for some years and I can't believe what I've been missing! This is super light, beautiful looking and not as fiddly as the Surface Pro. I was concerned about the large 15" screen making the laptop too heavy but I can't believe how much grunt and size they've managed to fit into such a light package. The keyboard is beautiful to type on and trackpad extremely responsive, right out of the box. As I use O365 there is hardly any real customisation to do, just downloaded a PDF reader and a couple of other things. Can't recommend this highly enough. Also, the service from JB Hi Fi was beyond brilliant. I spoke to a real person on the phone who arranged a great deal for me, then another team member brought the parcel to my door later that same afternoon - even though it was a Sunday. I've always shopped at JB Hi Fi but this only makes me want to support them even more. Great products, prices and service all
