Tell me, what "studio" wants their camera deciding of its own accord to re-focus this often while shooting Sometimes, simply adjusting myself in my seat can result in it going in and out of focus for seconds Thanks for the patch of unprofessional, distracting footage in the middle of my recording.

Neowin got a chance to play with Microsoft's LifeCam Studio, the company's first 1080p capable LifeCam. This little camera comes loaded with a ton of features including a 1080p sensor, auto focus and also TrueColor & ClearFrame technology which results in smooth video recording.

The webcam seems to function on a basic level, but I am unable to access the dashboard for further features, as the webcam keeps on saying that is it not plugged into the USB, although it is....... any advice from other users with Windows 7 would be very helpful!

Billed as the top dog of Microsoft's LifeCam line, the LifeCam Studio ($100 MSRP, currently available from Amazon for $55 ) pulls out all the stops: 1080p video, Skype certification, and an eye-catching durable design.

This LifeCam Studio is ok. It says its 1080p but I don't see much of a clarity of 1080p on video. Additionally, Microsoft could have sent and update for it to record in 1080p without using up too much memory.

This webcam takes good video at a reasonable price. The integrated microphone picks up pretty good, with little background noise. The only complaint I have is that when recording video with an external mic, the sound doesn't align with the video.

The image quality is amazing. Especially in low light. Much better than the Logitech c920 and c930e.

Works OK, won't stop trying to make everything on your PC use it's mic. Video quality is OK (Logitech C920 is way better) on Skype etc. White balance is way off as well. All around an OK web cam.

Great resolution with clear video. Has a wide angle to get the whole conference room on cam. The built in mic as good audio pickup and no noise. The mount allows for many configuration to get the right view.
