Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000

The LifeCam HD-3000 is a mid-range Microsoft webcam that's just a step down from the LifeCam Studio. Like the Studio, this LifeCam is a plug and play webcam, which makes it particularly easy to set up and...

Decent image quaity (day and night) in 640 x 360 pixel mode; Autofocus and face tracking; Software package with plenty of functions

Low framerate in 720p (10 fps; Overexposed image in well-lit rooms (blinding whites; Dark shades mass together in low light (blocks of black

Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000

Looking for an HD webcam , but don't want to spend a lot of money? The $39.95 (direct) Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 attempts to deliver much of the same high-definition goodness as the LifeCam Studio ($99, 4 stars), but at less than half the price.

Good video quality for the price; Automatic light compensation works well; Easy-to-position rubberized mount

No 1080p recording; Mount lacks tilt adjustment; Subpar microphone performance; Buggy live effects

Doesn't support Panasonic TV.

I ordered this for my Panasonic TV for using Skype. But to my surprise the cam didn't supported the TV. The seller was kind enough to take it as a return. The product was good. And packed nicely. Again flipkart delivered it to me in 2 working days.

mixed feelings on the LifeCam

We replaced my son's tablet with a desktop (and I've only used laptops for 12 years). So going from the tablet's built-in camera and use of gaming headphones with microphone attachment to a whole new configuration presented us with many challenges.

Great for Win7, NOT for Win10.

IT support is part of my daily job and I'm finding this webcam install difficult. Plug and play in Windows 10. Microphone component works flawlessly. Video is a pain. Microsoft support merely says "no extra drivers required for Win8 and above".

Waste of my money

Before someone wonders, yes I tried using this on multiple systems and different usb ports including 2.0 and 3.0 and 3.1 i am very not so happy with this and i will try to return it to get my money back.

Good Audio fairly decent image quality simple setup; drivers setup by plug and play; also downloads software automatically lightweight and small form factor so it balances on your monitor nicely Looks nice

I was so disappointed in this product it isnt even funny; At 720p, the maximum framerate it will capture video is 5-10 frames; It is just ridiculous that Microsoft makes you pay 30 bucks for a terrible product that doesnt live up at all of what it is advertised to do.

Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 review: An HD webcam for the cost-conscious

If your budget is unforgiving, Microsoft's LifeCam HD-3000 ($40) may give you the most bang for the least buck. At less than half the price of the LifeCam Studio, this Skype-certified webcam still delivers HD video.

Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 review: An HD webcam for the cost-conscious

The Microsoft LifeCam LifeCam HD-3000 is an affordable upgrade from an old VGA cam or low-quality laptop webcam. However, if you want the best features possible in a webcam, keep shopping.

HD video; Low price; Flex-mount can double as a camera stand;

No vertical tilt; Tough to attach securely to computer screen;
