If you need a smart display, the Lenovo Smart Display is one of the best in the business – but you might be able to get by with just a smart speaker.

Back in January of this year, Google Assistant took over CES 2018. It didn’t take long to find out why. The Google Assistant was getting a display. It was announced that LG, JBL, and Lenovo would all be releasing displays with Google Assitant. Now, the Lenovo smart Display is finally upon us .

The sound is good but not amazing; This may not be for you if you're not tied to Google services; It needs services like Hulu and Netflix

This is one of those rare instances in which we were surprised by a product we were initially skeptical about. Let's face it: isn't the target audience for a Google-based product, and Lenovo has a mixed reputation. With a first-gen product, we were prepared for something mediocre.

The Lenovo Smart Display is today’s best implementation of smart displays, regardless of the platform (Google vs. Amazon) and that’s probably why Google worked with Lenovo to launch his one first.

If you'd like visual recipe help in the kitchen, the Lenovo Smart Display performs that task exceedingly well and everything else well enough that it deserves your consideration.

The Lenovo Smart Display is a great kitchen assistant with an elegant design and a high-resolution touchscreen; It multitasks well, responds quickly to both touch and voice commands and offers a rich, personalized home screen and a customizable ambient mode.

I'd like the screen to do more when you play games or listen to music; You're limited to Google Duo for making voice calls; Scrolling through content with your voice can be tedious.

Lenovo's Smart Display is a perfect example of how voice-controlled smart speakers are better with a touchscreen.

The 10-inch Lenovo Smart Display is a good-looking, decent-sounding tabletop smart speaker that lets you use Google Assistant hands-free, with visual information and streaming media support.

Deciding on whether or not to buy the Lenovo Smart Display essentially comes down to two questions. The first thing you need to ask yourself is: do you need a display for your digital smart home assistant? My answer to this is yes, absolutely.
