I have two of these for my photos in conjunction with Lightroom, one for backup to keep in second location. I love it's durability and portabilty.

This drive is very easy to use. I store music applications with their contents on it. It's works as expected, although not as fast as an SSD drive. I use it with a MacBook Pro. Note: there's only one TB connection, so you can't daisy chain it.
no not really too slow
works well; is very portable
i cannot get the thunderbolt connection up in speed
Used as a library drive with Final Cut Pro X - idea for that purpose and love that the Thunderbolt cable is built in and can't be lost!
Built-in Tb Cable; Durable; Great Features; Massive Capacity
Not cheap
This mobile drive is compact yet very tough. The design is well thought out for protecting data on the drive - both electronically, by encrypting and password protecting files, and physically - rugged metal case and strong rubber bumper. The USB3 speed is great. I couldn't be happier.
We take a look at the Rugged, a portable Thunderbolt solution from LaCie. Read on as Tyler tells us all about the 500GB SSD version and what it can do.
This is now my main backup drive and everything about it is fast. Besides, for me (I work in petroleum exploration), ruggedness a very important factor, which is why I went with the SSD design in the first place.
Fast, fast, fast..; and reliable
All good; as far as I am concerned
Durability and style once again collide with LaCie's latest portable drive release. The Rugged Thunderbolt portable drive puts a new spin on LaCie's lineup by enhancing shock, dust, and water resistance.
Excellent physical data protection; Great performance for read and write; Integrated Thunderbolt cable
Lose USB 3.0 port and activity light when port cover is in place
At first glance, LaCie's new Rugged Thunderbolt drive doesn't look much different from it's predecessor the Rugged USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series, but the company has made some improvements to this iconic drive.
Not the smallest drive I had, but certainly the toughest. The drive is very well built, and has excellent transfer speeds. The setup was a no-brainer, and the drive has been working like a charm for a bit more than a year now, and survived plenty of trips.
