I bought this monitor back on November the 28th, 2020. I was looking for a replacement for my Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP which finally died after 14 years of use. How does it compare? Obviously the resolution is higher on the 27UL500-W. Colors are similar though the Dell did have a wider than SRGB color Gamut. Both are IPS. Refresh rate on the 27UL500-W is 60Hz at 4K but is also includes FreeSync technology so it can match the frame rate of the content it is displaying. To sum it up though, I love this monitor. I don't use it much for gaming but for work... amazing. Text is clear and legible. Colors are nice and accurate. Images are crisp. Perfect. I'm surprised it was this inexpensive tbh.

I bought it 2 days ago and I am so happy with this product. The price is so low and the performance is so high. It has very easy one control switch on the screen (at bottom) that can be used to choose all the required features of your choice. The reader mode is excellent to use when you need to protect your eyes and the cinema mode is good for enjoying a good video quality when you want to relax and enjoy some video. I do not use it for games as I am not a gamer. I use it for home office and I am very happy with the picture quality because of its high 4K resolution. I highly recommend this product to everyone who is worried about eye health because of long working hours on a computer. It has anti-glare coating, sharpe/crisp image and even small letters can be easily and clearly read by anyone. Great product from LG. I bought a Mac mini 2020 M 1 and needed a monitor. I had an old monitor which worked fine. However, I wanted at least a 4K or better. The monitor setup easily plugged into the M1 with no issues using an HDMI connector. I did start with a USB c-DVI connection which worked fine. The instructions recommend HDMI so I went back to HDMI. Really the only issue I had the disc that came with the monitor only had a PC-compatible disc instruction. Other than that, the ability of the monitor to be turned vertically horizontally mounted on the wall or other is flexible. At 27 inches there's nothing outlandishly large about it. I can easily split the screen in half with one document on one side and another document on the other. I do nothing that I think would stress the screen. I don't game. I do graphics with affinity photo and affinity vector both Apple products and it works fine with those products.

I never read instruction manuals... With this LG monitor you don't need to. Super easy to assemble (there are very few parts that you need.) Just plug in the power and the HDMI cable and you are good to go. I am using this monitor with my Apple MacBook Pro and the 4K is amazing. I have never had a screen / computer combo that looked this good.

If considering using this for 4k gaming (PS5 in my case), I recommend to look elsewhere. I returned mine with a full refund within 2 weeks. Found it to be a huge downgrade from my cheap 5 year old monitor. Light colours are washed out, darks far too dark and highlights appear completely over saturated despite extensive time calibrating. Limited control over colour profiles and no rgb settings built in. Have given 2 stars as it seemed OK (not great), for use on my mac (graphic design use) where you have more control over the colour profiles, however would avoid it if using for gaming, which unfortunately is what it is apparently intended for.
