Amazon's new Paperwhite has been updated with a gloriously sharp screen, but the trade-off is reduced battery life compared with last year's model. It's still a great ereader and the crisp visuals make it ideal for comic book fans, but original owners have scant reason to upgrade.

As far as the Kindle Paperwhite goes, it's arguably the best e-reader you can buy if you're a book worm. It's a single-purpose device that allows you to focus on the words and cut out all of the distractions of today's modern world.

In our world of smartphones and tablets, is there still room for e-readers Well, they may not be as sexy, powerful, or versatile as iPads , Galaxies , or HTC Ones . But then again, sometimes there's a lot to be said for a product that does one job very well.

I read a lot of books and it can get quite costly when you get "into" a series and have to pay up to $25 or more for the next installment. My friend had one of these and advised that I simply had to get one with a backlight. He was right.

Look, it is pretty much a no-content when it comes to the e-book readers. Amazon won that debate, long back... Fair and square. Like the Apple iPod was THE mp3 player and Xerox made THE photocopier (no matter how hard the likes of Barnes and Noble, Kobo and Sony tried with their e-book readers) it...

I am so pleased with this product. It is light in weight and fits easily in my bag. Very easy to use. Great for reading in bed and doesn't disturb my sleeping husband. Looking forward to trying it out in bright sunlight come the summer!
