I bought this to use at work, assembling vehicles, moving every 1/2 hour. The sound is good, I'm not in a loud environment. But the volume was at 3/4 and above for less than 4 hours and the battery was drained. The thing that was frustrating is the power button location. Since I was moving it 2-4 times an hour, the habit is to grab and go. When you do, the power button is almost always hit and the unit shuts off. I had to make sure I grabbed the carabiner. If you're looking for a small personal speaker, it had good sound and should serve you well. If you are in a louder environment, you may need more power and longer battery life.
For music wherever you go, the Clip 4 is the Bluetooth speaker for you. It has character, both in terms of sound and style while sticking to an affordable price.
Portable & durable; Integrated carabiner; Powerful bass; Affordable;
No jack input; No microphone; No previous track;
This mega-portable, waterproof, and durable speaker is perfectly at home on hikes, bike rides, out on the lake, or in the shower
The JBL Clip 4 is a portable Bluetooth speaker for the masses, and it makes some very important improvements over the popular Clip 3, namely the improved carabiner system and sound quality. JBL added USB-C charging to the Clip 4 and nixed the headphone jack, so no wired playback here.
Improved carabiner, Loud for size (5W output), Large controls, Battery life, USB-C charging, Bluetooth 5.1, IP67 rating
No PartyBoost or Connect+, No aux input or microphone, Lacks fast charging
JBL’s Clip 4 is the best ultra compact waterproof speaker worth your attention. The palm-sized gadget has a cool and versatile design, headlined by the Clip product family’s signature carabiner.
Pros Sound quality is definitely better than the previous CLIP 3 Good battery life Shape is better with more no slip added Cons Exposed charge port meaning easier for dust and sand to get inside Charge cable has changed and is unique so means I can only use the cable provided and will make getting another difficult if lost Buttons getting knocked easily compared to the sunk back clip 3 buttons. Price isn’t bad but could be a little less. So basically the clip 3 all round it better in my opinion but if your chasing purely slightly better sound quality then the clip 4 is better choice
Great product, very loud for such a small speaker
The Clip 4 sounds better, works better, and is more durable than the already-handy Clip 3. Is it the best Bluetooth speaker out there? No, and in fact, I own two speakers that easily outdo it when it comes to sound quality: the Megaboom 3 , and the wondrous Bowers & Wilkins T7.
