Huawei Watch GT 2 review: Pretty but not very smart

The Watch GT 2 has superb sports-tracking credentials for its price. As well as logging an impressive number of activities and offering handy insights into your workouts, stress, sleep, it'll emphatically outlast any WearOS device and the Apple Watch when it comes to battery life.

Great design and display; Superb sports tracking features; Best-in-class battery life

Limited app support; Poor software; Not cheap

Huawei Watch GT 2 review

The Watch GT 2 arrives with improvements such as a Kirin A1 processor, 3D glass and increased sports tracking to take on rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Apple Watch Series 5.

Huawei Watch GT 2 review: Simplistic smartwatch, super fitness watch

The Huawei Watch GT built a reputation for crazy-long battery life and great health tracking data. The GT 2 continues with that ethos, adding a couple of new features like the always-on lock screen and loudspeaker, making for a great fitness watch.

Really long battery life; Stylish good-looking design; Lots of health tracking data; Vibrant display; Two size options

Watch faces aren't customisable enough; Refresh rate is slow and stutters; Always-on screen only has two styles

Huawei Watch GT 2 Review: Similar experience, bigger battery

The Huawei Watch GT 2 is a smartwatch that runs the company's own mobile operating system Lite OS. It does not run Google's Wear OS, and it's not exactly like what Samsung has with their smartwatches running Tizen.

Industrial design remains decent (vs Watch GT 1; No WearOS; Relatively affordable; Smartwatch battery life matched only by Watch GT 1; 5ATM water-resistant

No tap-to-pay services; No WearOS; No 3rd-party app access; Not available in USA

Huawei Watch GT 2 review: A £200 focus on fitness

For under £200, does Huawei's latest smartwatch match the Apple Watch at half the price

Reasonable price; Good fitness tracking; Attractive design; Formidable battery life

No always-on display; Few smartwatch functions; Limited software

Great Smartwatch, but

It's a lovely watch, but would be better if : 1/ driving a car did not put the step count up! 2/ it interfaced with Strava

Love it!

This is a great watch. Battery goes down 5% a day for me so last more than 2 weeks. Plenty of customisable dials to choose from. Charges quickly. The sleeping info it picks up and you can see in the app on your phone is like wow! But ... since the last watch u date, the heart rate monitor does not seem quite accurate but it's ok as I only use it as a quide. Also, I tried to get a dial from the app on the phone with no luck, minor irritation really. Overall, a great watch so far!
