Huawei P20+P20 Pro Review: Hands-On

This year again, Huawei has surprised us in many ways. The Huawei P20 Series is a leap forward from an Industrial Design point of view, and the P20 Pro is an excellent representative of the new family. The new design is light and elegant, but at the same time, packs an impressive battery capacity.

Overall, the Huawei P20 Pro looks a bit of a mixed bag. Inside, not much has changed over the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which has now dropped in price to a smidge over £500, and the fact there's no microSD card expansion is a bit of a disappointment.

Huawei has been so smug and bullish about the P20 that you could be forgiven for thinking it would be a disappointment at some level. But it just isn't. When we reviewed the Mate 10 Pro earlier in the year, we loved it and now we've got all that we loved about that and a simply mind blowing, game...

Two years ago, Huawei and Leica formed a partnership that promises to "reinvent smartphone photography." Fast forward to today, we have the new Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. For the first time since the partnership was formed, I'm genuinely excited to see what the P20 phones' Leica-certified cameras can...

Review: The Huawei P20 Pro

When we reviewed the Huawei Mate 10 Pro earlier in the year, we loved it and now we've got all that we loved about that and a superb camera as well we think this will give Apple, Samsung and others a very strong run for their money.

That camera; hugely responsive; great screen; superb sound

Bluetooth can be temperamental; battery management needs a bit of coaching; EMUI isn't for everyone; no headphone jack

Huawei P20 Pro Review: DSLR In Your Pocket?

While Huawei's been making headway into camera technologies in the past few years, they've always fallen behind companies like Samsung and Apple in the camera race. As nice as their phones are, nothing that they've released recently have been enough to take away the photography crown from their...

Huawei P20 Pro Review

The Huawei P20 Pro is the best Android smartphone we've used this year

Astonishingly capable camera; Great design with eye-catching twilight color scheme; Long-lasting battery; Fast; capable performance; Helpful artificial intelligence features

Not available in the U.S; No wireless charging

Huawei P20 Pro review: Is three cameras the magic number?

Huawei has been really impressing us with its P-range of smartphones for a while now and the P20 Pro is the latest entry into the series. The Chinese-brand has shunned its budget image and carved out a reputation for offering Apple-like hardware with Android software at a premium price that puts it...

Premium design; Triple camera system; Improved software; Great battery life

Design lacks originality; UI still isn't perfect

Huawei P20 Pro review: A new phone camera king is born

Huawei's product output has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs over the last couple of years. But those software lows in the P8 and screen issues in the P10 have been used as educational stepping stones.

Stunning design with superb colour finishes; Excellent battery life; A camera that genuinely matches the best in class; Impressive sound quality; All the power and performance you'll need

No wireless charging; Face Unlock still miles behind Apple's equivalent; The notch (can be software hidden; Though; ‘Portrait' bokeh still off the mark; Some software foibles

Huawei P20 Pro review: not much thrill, but a quality camera

There are three features that make the Huawei P20 Pro special, its battery life, 3x "optical zoom" and the camera's ability to deal with very low-light scenes. However, this is enough to make this one of the more interesting phones of the year to date.

Excellent low-light camera mode; great battery life; versatile three-lens rear camera system

No headphone jack; no wireless charging; display not as sharp as the Samsung Galaxy S9
