HTC Vive Pro review: The best VR experience, bar none... if you can afford one

The HTC Vive Pro is undeniably the best virtual reality experience available today... if you can afford it. There are a multitude of improvements over the original headset. The Pro is more comfortable, easier to pop on and off thanks to the new adjustment wheel, and its better fit makes for greater...

Incredible visual improvements; Excellent Hi-Res and spatial sound enhancements; Comfortable fit and easy adjustment; Single connection improvement

It's really expensive (as no controllers or base stations included; DisplayPort only connection; Still not wireless; 90Hz rather than 120Hz refresh rate

Amazing

Absolutely amazing. I've had the htc vive and this is far superior I'm an avid sim race and flight sim enthusiast and this headset makes it look real enough to become more immersed. I've had to turn on supersampling and asynchronous reprojection In steam.

i brought this as my husbands birthday present, but to be fair i have used it more than him. it was worth getting the more expensive one than others on the market as after research we found out that HTC are making their headsets wifi later this year 2019 and this one is wifi ready it will just need...

Don't forget to decorate!

I really wanted to love the Pro the way I've loved the original. I'm giving 4 stars because the headset deserves a 5 but the new lighthouses deserve a 3. When I got the pro, some steam glitches made it have a bunch of issues (Not the fault of the vive) but identifying those issues was made much more...

Comparing many maufacturers and Vive Pro is at the top

I wanted NOT to like this. It does help getting an open box at Micro but still costly. At first I hated it but in the end it was that I'd gotten used to Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) Portal. Steam has it's own idiosyncrasies and the Vive too has it's own. You need to get used to each for a few hours.

Good upgrade

Ok if you have spare cash and well into vr I would defo Recommend this. One major thing from the vive to the pro is being able to read The writing clearly in vr. The clarity of games seems so much better and you soon get use to the display.

I was disappointed to find that I really couldn't do anything with just the headset alone. I guess its my fault for not doing the research but my assumption was that after spending over 800 on a headset, I would receive controllers and the required devices to actually use it.

HTC Vive Pro Headset : A High Bar for Premium VR

HTC's Vive platform has a solid foothold on the PC VR segment with 45% market share, despite fierce competition from the Facebook-backed Oculus Rift and Microsoft's Windows Mixed Reality initiative .

Most comfortable HMD to date; Excellent build quality; Ready for next-generation tracking; Best-in-class image quality

Headphones lack bass response; Pricey; Foam cushions not moisture-proof

Let's get this out of the way: the HTC Vive Pro retails for $799. And you're just getting the headset. If you don't already have controllers and tracking stations you'll need to purchase them separately.
