HP Officejet Pro 6230 ePrinter Review

If you need an inexpensive inkjet printer to share in a micro-office or use as a personal printer or at home, make sure to put the HP Officejet Pro 6230 ePrinter ($99.99) on your must-see list. It offers both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, making it easy to share, adds Wireless Direct (HP's equivalent of Wi-Fi Direct) for easy printing from mobile devices even if you don't connect it to a network, and delivers both ample paper capacity and a low cost per page. The combination is enough to make it our Editors' Choice inkjet printer that's equally good for home use and light-duty personal or micro-office use. According to HP, the 6230 ($129.89 at Amazon) is the replacement for the HP Officejet 6100 ePrinter , which is our previous top pick in this category, and is still widely available at this writing. HP Officejet Pro 6230 review

HP's Officejet Pro 6230 is a no-frills inkjet printer, aimed at small offices and the home. You can buy cheaper, but it's still a bargain with support for wired and wireless networking, making it easy to share among everyone on a network.

Best Printer for small office

I am running a small construction office and for running the office it requires a printer also, so I have gone to the computer shop and the sales person has advised me to purchase HP Officejet Pro 6230 ePrinter after hearing the nature of my work in my office.

Lack of support

Initially I connected to this device with my laptop with my wireless network. Then I tried to connect with my wife's Acer notebook running windows 8.1. The notebook could not connect to this printer. I tried all the recommended fixes and it still would not work.

Needed it for the specific driver it has, good design with the paper feed at the bottom, does not take up too much vertical space.

Ink is very expensive and generic ink works poorly

I would give this 4 stars if it wasn't for the issues with using after-market ink. I got very poor print quality (and obnoxious warning messages from the printer) when I tried using non HP ink. This leaves me with paying a lot for ink that seems to run out incredibly fast.

Wireless works well; Good print quality

Ink too expensive and runs out quickly; Sometimes takes forever to start up
