Google Pixel 10 Pro XL reviewed: fine but boring
This has been a surprising review, and one that still finds this writer in a bit of a weird place. While it’s clear that the Pixel 10 Pro XL is Google’s best phone, it’s also one that feels lacklustre compared to previous generations. It’s a fine phone.
Pros:
- Beautiful build, Despite the benchmarks, the system performance seems solid, Excellent camera, Supports magnetic Qi2 25W wireless charging, Water resistance
Cons:
- No major changes beyond chip from last year, AI features may not be all that useful, Magic Cue is unreliable at best, No major battery life improvements

Put simply, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is the best all-round phone you can buy right now. It’s big and expensive, but delivers on almost all of Google’s claims, making it easy to recommend. This is a phone without any major weaknesses.
Pros:
- Gorgeous design and display, Superb camera experience, Brilliant Android 16 software with long support, The best wireless charging on Android
Cons:
- Big and bulky, 100x zoom is disappointing, Even more expensive

Pros:
- Longer battery life, Brighter displays, 100x Pro Res Zoom adds major magnification, Pixelsnap charging (aka Qi2 support), Magic Cue is super helpful (when it works)
Cons:
- No more wireless powersharing, Processing full-res images is a bit slow, Pixel 10 line is eSIM only in the US

Testing the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL showed me a new use for AI that genuinely appeals to me
Another excellent all-rounder flagship, with some welcome new additions
Pros:
- Fantastic camera quality as expected, but now with useful AI coaching, Qi2 finally makes its way to Android, Stunning screen and flagship-grade build
Cons:
- Beaten on raw processing power by Snapdragon rivals, Only a few superior specs over the smaller, cheaper Pixel 10 Pro
