Garmin Forerunner 745 : A great sports watch that falls a little short

An excellent triathlon watch that’s also great for pretty much all other sports, but battery life isn’t the best

Lightweight, low profile design; Excellent training and recovery insights; Packed with features;

Occasionally inaccurate heart rate readings; Shorter battery life than rivals; No full maps;

Garmin Forerunner 745 review: Fighting fit

You can’t really fault this multisports watch for its abilities, while giving you the best that Garmin has to offer in smartwatch features. The new training and workout features are welcomed here, even if they’re no longer unique to this model. The not-so-fantastic battery life and small price difference with 945 does make the 745 feel like it should cost less.

Smaller and lighter case to wear; Reliable sports tracking; New suggested workouts;

Battery life isn't the greatest; Expensive; Sleep tracking is iffy;

Garmin Forerunner 745 review

The Forerunner 745 is another solid addition to Garmin’s family of watches. It makes good upgrades on the 735XT, whether it’s the smaller design or the more useful training analysis insights. Our main gripes lie with the battery life outside of tracking and a price, which doesn't feel significantly cheaper than the 945 that sits above it. Also, watches like the Coros 2 put a question mark over why you should now be spending so much more on triathlon-centric features.

Training advice and workout recommendations; New smartwatch features; Low price for a high-end Forerunner;

Pricier than similar Coros tri watches
