Fitbit Inspire Hr does one thing exceptionally well. It sticks to basics, and it doesn’t pretend to do more than advertised. It’s not perfect, and some of the issues can’t be corrected through software patches, but when I draw the line, it all adds up to a positive experience.

Fitbit Inspire Hr is small, sleek, and packs a lot of functions that you wouldn’t usually get; Sure, you can count the paces and distances with a phone, but all the rest is data being lost; Having a small tracker has some advantages.

Sadly, the Fitbit Inspire Hr is not a perfect tracker, but all of the issues are rather small and should affect few people; The display is not all that responsive, or better yet it’s not perfectly responsive 100% of the time; Some swipes are instantaneous, while others seem to take a while.

The Fitbit Inspire HR doesn't break new ground in terms of what a fitness tracker is capable of. What it does do is bring us a tracker that is supremely good value for money. It's well built, and showcases some of Fitbit's best features in an affordable package.

Fitness bands make sense for people who are really motivated, otherwise those notifications to complete a certain number of steps or get up from your desk to take a walk around every hour will most likely be ignored.

Battery life isn’t great

The Fitbit Inspire HR is a great little fitness tracker. As well as the Fitbit staple of step counting, it’s surprisingly good for proper run tracking if you do so with a phone in your pocket. Add notifications and, well, that’s just about everything we want in a low-key band. Battery life is one part you’ll need to consider. 3-4 days of use with all the good stuff turned on is not a great result. But it’s almost the lone black mark on what is a truly likeable Fitbit that’s good for much more than just step counting. If you’re weighing up whether to buy this or the basic Inspire, get the Inspire HR. It’s much better.

We're very happy to recommend the light, smart-looking Fitbit Inspire HR. For the price, it's the most affordable Fitbit that offers nearly all the features of the top-end trackers.

It might have a slightly cheaper-looking build quality than the Fitbit Charge 3, but the Inspire HR offers stacks of features - from heart-rate tracking, to waterproofing, sleep-tracking and beyond - at a great price point. It's really quite remarkable.
