Fitbit Inspire 2 : Great for casuals; less so for pros

The Fitbit Inspire 2 tries to do it all, with mixed results

Neat, stylish design; Free year of Fitbit Premium; Strong battery life;

Small screen struggles to show much data; Fiddly controls; Dude, where’s my button?;

Fitbit Inspire 2 Black/Black FB418BKBK review

The Fitbit Inspire 2 is a simple to set up and use sleep tracker that also works well as an all-day tracker too. You'll need Fitbit Premium to get the most from its stats, but it's worth the investment if you're serious about seeing how stress and sleep affects your daily life.

Sleek design, Easy to use interface, Great battery life, Comfortable to wear, Comprehensive sleep tracking for price

Small display, No GPS, Need Fitbit Premium for full functionality

Fitbit Inspire 2 Black/Black FB418BKBK review

The Fitbit Inspire 2 is a subtle but worthwhile refinement of the brand’s affordable fitness tracker format. Taking the preceding Fitbit Inspire HR as its base, it places solid heart rate tracking at its core, and adds the useful Active Zone Minutes function from the Fitbit Charge 4.

Excellent battery life, Comfortable fit, Slick Fitbit app, You’re a fitness beginner : This is a relatively affordable entry point to the Fitbit platform, and it’s not one that bombards you with too much jargon or fine control.

No GPS, No Fitbit Pay, Pokey display, You’re a hardcore runner/biker/insert chosen workout type : The Fitbit Inspire 2 is great for beginners and casual runners, but it’s definitely not for those who want to dive into the minutiae of their workouts.

Fitbit Inspire 2 review

The Fitbit Inspire 2 impressed us with its simplicity, unobtrusive styling, good battery life and heart rate monitoring. As a simple multi-sport tracker or a tool to gently nudge you towards a more active lifestyle, it works well. We were less keen on having to spend the cost of the device again on a subscription to retain access to the app's premium features after a year. Its screen is also a little too small to make the most of its sports-specific features. Nevertheless, is you're interested in logging exercise and keeping general insights into your health, we don't think you'll be disappointed.

Heart rate feature; Simple to use; Excellent app;

Basic functionality; Small screen; No in-built GPS
