Fitbit Charge 6 review: A fun but flawed modern fitness tracker

The Fitbit Charge 6 is an unobtrusive fitness band with a wide spread of features. It has an ECG heart health reader and full GPS, making it second only to the Fitbit Sense 2 in some ways. However, we can’t really recommend it to those looking for a full-on fitness watch, even though it ticks all the right boxes on the surface. The Fitbit Charge 6 GPS suffers from serious connectivity issues if the strap is fastened too tightly, and the heart rate accuracy will take a hit from a looser fit. But if you’re just after a casual wearable tracker, the Fitbit Charge 6 is still great and, as ever, we find its sleep tracking reliability to be above average.

+ Feature-packed for a fitness band; + Decent battery life; + Can relay your heart rate to some gym equipment

Severely flaky GPS; No altimeter; Heart rate accuracy not the best

Fitbit Charge 6 Review

The Fitbit Charge has long been among the most value-rich fitness trackers, and the sixth-generation model extends that legacy. The $159.95 Fitbit Charge 6 builds upon its predecessor with 40 exercise profiles for workout tracking, along with a new feature that lets you send your heart rate via Bluetooth to gym equipment. Though it's primarily for fitness and health tracking, the Charge 6 features several Google lifestyle apps, including Google Maps, Google Wallet (which replaces Fitbit Pay), and YouTube Music. Aside from a new left side button for navigation, it has the same design as the last generation and continues to deliver up to a week of battery life on a charge. With ample tools for monitoring your activity and health, key lifestyle features, and a fantastic companion app, the Charge 6 remains an excellent investment in your wellness, and our Editors' Choice winner for fitness trackers. A Familiar Design  The Charge is Fitbit's most advanced tracker, offering more feature...

With modest improvements over the last generation, including new Google lifestyle apps, Bluetooth integration with gym equipment, and a refreshed companion app, the affordable Fitbit Charge 6 remains the best fitness tracker on the market.
