We bought this printer a couple of months back and so far it has been great! The setup was fairly easy and quick! I thought it would be a pain to send documents and photos from my phone to be printed but it is so easy and they Look great!

Do not by PERIOD!!! The scanner is horrible. I am using USB connection so there should be no problems. I have to attempt to do scans like 6 times for it to finally scan. I am buying an additional scanner to scan documents, and I will just use the printer.

Competent device which produces a high quality output, but it is not robust enough: the lid over the platen became detached at one hinge within a week of purchase. Previous printers I have bought have been much stronger. Ink seems expensive (a full set costas as much as the printer did!),

After a few weeks use, the printer failed to recognise genuine Epson cartridges. Bought a few extra but with same result. John Lewis arranging shipment to Epson. Hopefully I will get it back fixed or a replacement within 28 days. Most inconvenient!!!

This 8500 is supposed to be good at pictures - its got 6 inks but it doesn't work too well with greens - looks like mud brown green - I've tried fiddling with all the settings but nothing seems to get proper green colour. It also drives me mad with weird noises - mainly a very high pitch whistle.

I bought this item a few weeks ago and it is simply a very badly thought out product. I have used my EPSON PHOTO R 360 for many years and it is simply the best ever printer, until it failed recently, hence me buying this XP-8500.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and the print quality is fantastic, I had an epson printer some time ago and loved it, after it died I purchased another brand, and its only now that I realise just how superior the photo print quality is compared to other well known brands, will always buy Epson in future.

Easy set up and connectivity. Yet to use properly however have used Epson before and was happy with it. We needed a printer that had a photo print option as we don't live anywhere close to a city and was great value for money on sale.
