Works fine; I am getting great AC speeds (30-42MB/sec file transfer speeds usung ASUS RT-66AC router -distance 10 feet and one wall) Driver 1024.2.618.2013 dated 13-07-04 needs improvement. Any change (enable/disable - change in driver properties) messes up the adapter and computer reboot is needed.
This device was exactly what I needed. I replaced an identical WiFi router that the cable company was charging me a monthly rental fee to use.
For anyone looking to make an early break into the world of 802.11ac routers, the Edimax BR-6478AC looks like a tempting buy. For £111, you get not only a dual-band 802.11ac router, but also the USB dongle that accompanies it.
I have used this router for almost a year. Never have I needed to reboot this router or seen any abnormal connection issues. While the firmware is very stable, the feature set is somewhat limited. For example, I can see the MAC and IP addresses in the DHCP table, but no device names.
Very stable
Firmware gets the job done; but few extra features No DD-WRT support
Pig-ugly but has been working fine for months now. Good purchase and well worth the money.
No problems so far with this. 3 options on log in for bridge, AP and router. setup easy enough and up and running in under 5. Decent range (loses a bar through 2 walls (about 20-25ft) and none through floor - directly below) Additional 'guest wifi' is a handy extra for visitors and equally as easy...
Excellent product
Works fine, but anyone wanting to set up BR-6478AC V2 router in WISP mode when needing a password to connect to another router or access point needs to install earlier firmware version v1.11 or newer beta version V1.13a
Upgraded to ASUS quot;ACquot; router 2400Mbps. Better signal than quot;Nquot; but remote areas were still lower strength. Installed two of these and the entire house is at full bars now, connections from 867 Mbps on extender to 1.7 Gbps on the main channel.
