PlayStation 5 Destruction AllStars DESTRUCTION ALLSTARS review

Destruction AllStars was revealed as one of the PS5-exclusive launch highlights before being pushed back to February 2021 to release free via PlayStation Plus . This move was for the best, because I cannot see how it would have been successful at the $70 premium it was planned for.

Presentation and style is top-notch, Fun and exciting destruction derby combat, Diverse and interesting character lineup

Shallow experience with not much to do or chase, Tends to start feeling "samey" after a few hours, Long matchmaking times

The core idea behind Destruction AllStars is simple: It’s a multiplayer demolition derby where players ram into other cars to amass points. It takes the smash-em-up gameplay of Burnout, but removes the actual racing component. When it...

Easy controls; Exciting crashes;

Lacking online modes; Undercooked abilities; Overbearing microtransactions; Distracting DualSense support;

PlayStation 5 Destruction AllStars DESTRUCTION ALLSTARS review

Destruction AllStars has solid driving, but its demolition derby-style car combat drags as much as it thrills.

Smooth, arcade-style driving controls feel precise for both chasing and crashing cars, Impressive visuals dazzle and sell the spectacle of the experience

Out-of-car mechanics detract from core car combat experience, Multiplayer modes all feel very similar, so the gameplay gets repetitive across all modes, Lots of time spent chasing and setting up crashes for only small payoffs, Poorly fleshed out, microtransaction-based Challenge Series is a...

PlayStation 5 Destruction AllStars DESTRUCTION ALLSTARS review

Whiplash-inducing crashes and unique character abilities are initially satisfying, but only the most dedicated rubberneckers will find a reason to stick around.
