The U2412M from Dell might look like a P2411H Professional series, but there's one important difference: it's an IPS screen, not a TN. That means better colour representation, better viewing angle and a higher price.

Pros: The display quality and price (on sale) are great. Cons: It doesn't want to work with my KVM switch, so I'm looking into a workaround. Also, the bottom bezel (or the screen) is bowed toward the center, so it creates a thin-thick-thin-appearing Windows screen edge across the bottom.
The DELL U2412M is a 24-inch IPS panel display in a widescreen (16:10) resolution, operating at 1920 x 1200. It features a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 16.7 million display colors, and an LED backlight, though the response time might be a bit longer than some action-focused gamers look for at 8ms.
The Dell U2412M did well in our recent roundup of 23- and 24-inch monitors . It offers screen quality that's almost as good as that of the top-ranked HP ZR2440w , for a little less money. Plus, its design is flexible and efficient.
Ergonomically flexible design

Dell UltraSharp monitors have a reputation for offering solid color performance with a generous, business friendly feature set, and the UltraSharp U2412M ($369 direct) lives up to that reputation.
Very good color quality; Loaded with features; Affordably priced; Energy Efficient
No HDMI port; Lacks auto-pivot support; Small text could be cleaner
The Dell UltraSharp U2412M is a 24in, professional grade monitor.
We're seeing an increasing number of IPS panels, as the price of this high-end LCD technology seems to be falling into consumer territory. Unlike last month's Hazro HZ27WC , Dell's U2412M is aimed at a business market, which might excuse the fact that it's twice the price of a budget 24in monitor.
While gamers tend to favour monitors with fast refresh rates there are many other screens with better-quality images that are still suitable for gaming. The Dell U2412M is popular among gamers and non-gamers alike as it uses a high-quality 24in LED-backlit IPS panel.
IPS panel excellent colour DisplayPort
No HDMI high response time 6-bit
I would recomment this monitor to others as I have no real complaints about it and it really high quality. Only thing is that its pricy and I waited till it was on sale for $300. I use it for gaming, work and internet browsing. Star wars the old republic looks fantastic on this monitor.
- amazing colors; - 1920 x 1200 resolution is perfect for me; - portrait mode by swivelling the monitor if needed; - Wide screen monitor is perfect for movies and games; - Ergonomics; - led backlight saves on energy; - great looking monitor
- Expensive monitor unless you get it on sale, - For the price you could get a 27 inch regular (non ips) monitor from samsung or lg; Although I doubt it would have picture like this
