small enough to take around everywhere but have to be sure to check flying zones in your area before taking to the skies

Would highly recommend this as the fly more combo as it gives you the extra flight time and comes with a case to store the drone, controller and batteries. Brilliant for getting started and learning to fly, has a lot of smarts compared to cheaper drones. Very happy with my purchase.

A fun and easy drone to get started with. Easy to use, and walks through basic setup. The smart features help prevent making mistakes, and it's quite capable of taking excellent images & video. For a first drone, the SE is excellent, if you want something slightly better get the Mini 2 (higher resolution camera, slightly longer run time, slightly faster). Highly recommend!
