"Lots to like -- tilt screen, the click-wheel remembers the focal length, nice dials, many useful settings. But at 24 mm images are completely out of focus, with lots of red fringing, at the edges and reasonably sharp only in the middle 1/3.
Now that I have run a few thousand exposures through this camera, I'm not that happy with it. I shoot a lot of close distances and the auto focus can't seem to get it right even with touch screen. It always tries to focus to further points. Very annoying.
Were having a lot of trouble importing the photos and videos from the camera, with no one available to help. We ended up seeking help from a gentleman with 2 degrees in IT and he was having the same troubles importing. Nothing seemed to work. Overall the camera quality is good.
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a serious compact for serious photographers. Just take a look at that all-black colour scheme: your six-year-old nephew won't want anything to do with it.
Good colours and sharpness; Low light photography exceeds expectations; Easier to use than predecessor; Good battery life
Autofocus performance has a few weak areas; Fine details lack definition
I was expecting a lot for a point and shoot that cost over $700. I was not disappointed. I can honestly say this camera takes better pictures then my partner's Canon Rebel (whatever numbers follow that designation).
Stellar UI and handling however so very disappointed with the optics. Basically unusable for any shots requiring edge-to-edge sharpness (landscapes, architecture) below 5.6 aperture and 50mm equivalent focal length. More than soft edges, soft well into the centre.
I have never used ABT before and tried ordering this product from another suppliers which had the unit on Back Order. I checked there site and quickly called Customer Service to confirm availability. They were quick to address and answer my questions.
Customer services was outstanding; Speed of shipping
Canon's PowerShot G7X Mark II builds-upon its predecessor to become one of the most attractive pocket compacts for enthusiasts. It shares the same core premise as the original, delivering a comfortable step-up in quality and control over a typical point-and-shoot or phone, while still remaining...
Great image quality from 1in sensor and DIGIC 7; Flexible 24-100mm zoom range with bright aperture; Fast and confident AF system; Tilting screen with touch capabilities; Built-in Wifi with NFC and smartphone control; De-clickable lens control ring; USB charging
No built-in viewfinder; nor any means to connect one; Lens a little soft in corners at 24mm; No 4k video or slow motion movies; No in-camera panorama mode; Can't remote-trigger movie recordings over Wifi
