Very satisfied with this purchase. Didn't want to lug my 60D around Europe, hence wanted something small and compact. Have thoroughly enjoyed the product as a point and shoot camera.

Compact camera; V good image quality
I want a threaded front lens mount for filters; (Like the G1X
"Lots to like -- tilt screen, the click-wheel remembers the focal length, nice dials, many useful settings. But at 24 mm images are completely out of focus, with lots of red fringing, at the edges and reasonably sharp only in the middle 1/3.
The PowerShot range is only one step down from their DSLR offerings; however they are small enough to fit in your pocket but are still extremely powerful units that have a large number of features that started out in their DSLR models.
I tried the Olympus TG-5 for kayak fishing shots, but was disappointed with the image sharpness, inconsistent exposure and low-light capability. After reviewing pics from the G7X II, I decided to buy it and the genuine Canon waterproof housing. What a difference!
This camera is way beyond poor quality I tried every mode p mode changed the iso put it too auto still got a bad image. I had a canon powershot s90 even before a sd990 much superior it's a shame I am going to return it for a different brand.
Now that I have run a few thousand exposures through this camera, I'm not that happy with it. I shoot a lot of close distances and the auto focus can't seem to get it right even with touch screen. It always tries to focus to further points. Very annoying.
I have a DSLR with a number of lens for specific purposes so when my Canon SX720 "broke", I wanted a better camera with more features. This camera is outstanding for what it can do. I haven't been able to use all the features but so far I am very satisfied.
Tried other compact cameras always kept coming back to this one.Its got everything you need.No brainer purchase
Defying expectations, Canon's compact G7 X MkII packs a 20.1MP 1in sensor, which is larger than the competition, and a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 zoom lens. While it doesn't quite measure up in the length stakes, the super-wide aperture brings its own advantages.
