Camera still in testing phase..... preparing to print a 17" x 32" enlargement to evaluate Canon's "medium format quality" statement. Will update when I have more information.

Great motorized mirror retraction system......tests indicated 1/2 sec; delay eliminated all mirror bounce/vibration. Camera works great....once I get used to all the control button locations....(after owning a 5D for 8 years !

Have not gotton thru the 521 page manual...; been relying on the abbreviated manual

A fantastic upgrade over my old 5DmkII. Fantastic image quality. Same great user interface. Nice usability improvements (mirror pre-fire, better live view performance etc) Highly recommended for landscape and studio use!

The Canon EOS 5DS R delivers slightly more resolution and sharpness than the regular 5DS model at a very slight increase in the risk of producing unwanted moire effects. In reality these effects actually proved difficult to create on purpose out in the field, and as they can be largely removed.

Love the 51 megapixel resolution, but you can only push the ISO to 3200. Picked up the 5DSR yesterday, and shot a few mid-low light shots indoors. Great pictures, but you're going to be reaching for your tripod a little more often because of the ISO.

Easy to use; Build quality

I purchased my 5DSR about a year ago from B&H and use it with my other Canon bodies. I have shot it in SE Asia and throughout the Mediterranean with great results. I can shoot and crop and still have more pixels left over than most other cameras. The resolution for landscapes is fantastic.

The EOS 5DS R when coupled to Canon's excellent 24 mm Tilt Shift lens makes a perfect architectural photography camera kit. We print poster size and larger prints for trade shows. The detail that the EOS 5DS R sensor provides are truly breathtaking.

The image files this camera produces are just stunning. Unbelievable detail with good L lenses. Since I have the 5D Mk III also (and have had the Mk II and Mk I), the ergonomics are essentially unchanged.
