Great headphones for the money! Can listen to for hours.
Great value
A little lacking in comfort
First of all I will like to start by saying that these headphones are very light , you don't get tired even after using them for a long period of time , I been using them for mixing and they work pretty well for my taste and the type of music I record, which is mostly instrumental.
Audio-Technica's M series is a classic line of studio headphones. The headphones are intended for professional applications, but the company have kept the pricing at reasonable levels. We've previously reviewed the ATH-M30X ($69) and ATH-M50X ($148), and now it's time to have a [...]
Flat response for pro applications Tough build Lightweight Competitive pricing
Long sessions can be uncomfortable
Both Sony and Audio Technica are well known for their studio quality headphones. Specifically, the Sony MDR-V6 and the Audio Technica ATH-M40 are similarly priced headphones that present a relatively flat frequency response which is ideal for studio mixing.
This is my second pair.

Unable to withstand wife stepping on them
Been using these headphones for 2 weeks now. Can't complain. Noise isolation is incredible. Though it gets a lil hot after long continuous hours of use. But again, that's probably because U r getting such good noise isolation. Never gets uncomfortable though. Fits perfectly around the ears.
I have these headphones for more than two years now and that's my review on them. Design: they're really nice overall. Easily foldable thanks to rotating cans and two cables to choose from.

slightly bright sound (maybe bad for critical mixing
After listening to everything I can get my ears around, I think the M40x's are the best all-around sounding closed back headphones you can buy. (without being filthy rich)
The smaller ATH-M40X by Audio-Technica is made ??by the same recipe as the big brother M50?x. They are almost as big and heavy, though not
Full-bodied and potent sound with great dynamics and balance
No remote or microphone on the cord
Best headphones under £100 by far, better now they have detachable cords
