Audio technica has a decent footing in the video microphone market, but fall shy of Rode audio with most of their products. But whereas audio technica can't compare across the cheaper microphones in their line up, the at8024 is by Far the best microphone at its price point. With tactile switches, sturdy design and almost weightlessness, the build and execution is amazing and the audio quality is fantastic. Just be aware, it's a non removable cable

A brilliant solution for quality audio, both in stereo and mono modes. Exceptional clarity. The stereo mode had a wide, natural feel.Mono mode is perfect for on the run interviews. The gain controls and roll-off feature are an absolute bonus along with the two included windsocks. Great value for a quality product Highly recommended!

Happy with the mic, it does what it supposed to do within the usual limitations or unbalanced 3.5mm output. Good on my dSLR and as the mic is Self Powered adds to its usefulness - Works a treat on my Zoom h1 as a bonus - But remember nothing beats having a microphone close to or on the subject talking - Shotgun mics ain't a wonder solution !
