After my time with the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q, I came to fall in love with it completely. I was a huge, huge fan of the original ROG Swift PG278Q, but the PG279Q fixes all my faults with the PG278Q (and it's not like that list was huge). I really wanted to see an IPS-based ROG Swift, so here we are.

165Hz The Next Frontier; ASUS ROG Design; 1440p > 4K; NVIDIA's G-Sync Technology; Not Too Badly Priced

Requires Huge GPU Horsepower for 165FPS

ASUS' hard work has put down a path for the other gaming monitors. We are very excited about all three of the models, which all have their strengths. We do not see any real downfalls from any of the MG278Q, the MG279Q, or the PG279Q.

Asus ROG Swift PG279Q

The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is, on paper, the ideal 27-inch gaming monitor. It has an IPS panel, so overall image quality should be superb, plus it can refresh at up to 165Hz and includes G-Sync technology too.

Excellent image quality; IPS quality and fast refresh rate in one; Good build quality; Superb gaming experience

Expensive; Limited connectivity; Quality control issues

ASUS PG279Q ROG Swift Monitor Review

The ASUS ROG Swift range of monitors has delighted us in recent times, with a whole range of products from the super-wide, gorgeous and expensive PG378Q through 4K offerings and up to today's review of the PG279Q.

Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27-inch 165Hz Gaming Monitor

G-Sync is nothing new and now that FreeSync screens have become more common, there are plenty of choices for users seeking an adaptive-refresh display. But for those craving the highest possible speed there is nothing that can compete with the Asus PG279Q.

Stable at 165Hz; G-Sync; Bright sharp picture; Saturated color; GamePlus; OSD joystick controller; Styling; Solid build quality

Significant light output reduction in ULMB mode; Calibration required for best image quality; Expensive

Great Monitor For 1440p Gaming

Use this for Gaming at 1440p 144hz and play competitive FPS games. The TN vs IPS panel is always a big debate but the response time for this monitor is fantastic. This being my first IPS monitor it looks way better than TN with the same level of performance. Highly recommend if you have the cash.
