Asus ROG Swift PG258Q

An exclusive first review of the first 240Hz gaming screen from Asus, part of their popular ROG Swift range. With NVIDIA G-sync and ULMB support included.

Excellent pixel response times; high refresh rate; great motion clarity and low lag for gaming; ULMB available and with high brightness potential; Nice ROG Swift design and features

Limitations of TN Film technology when it comes to viewing angles particularly; Minimum brightness adjustment range is limited; G-sync module results in more limited connectivity and scaler options

Asus ROG Swift PG258Q review

Most PC gamers are happy with hitting 60 frames per second (or FPS) in games. In recent years, however, the arrival of high-refresh-rate monitors has ushered in a new era of super-slick PC gaming where gaming at refresh rates of 120Hz, 144Hz or, in the case of Asus ROG Swift PG258Q, a whopping...

Asus ROG Swift PG258Q

The Asus ROG Swift PG258Q is the second 240Hz gaming monitor I've looked at; the first was the AOC AG251FZ . Just like the previous model, this a 25-inch panel with a 1080p resolution, but whereas the AOC featured FreeSync technology, the PG258Q includes G-Sync, plus blur reduction too.

Decent overall image quality; Fantastic gaming performance; Stylish and versatile stand; G-Sync works well; Attractive design; Choice of 144Hz with blur reduction or 240Hz

240Hz of debatable benefit; Limited connectivity; Only 1080p; Expensive

From being a 60hz user for years and then jumping to 240hz monitor I noticed an enormous improvement in every aspect of this monitor. There's a common fallacy where people say the difference in 144hz to 240hz is very minimal.

Boight this for the 240 refresh rate and im very happy with the purchase, i rated it five stars because it does what it says it does. The brightness makes the monitor look very clear and defines for the 1080p picture. Definitely the way to go if your in the market looking for a competitive monitor.

Very smooth game play but some annoyances

So I got this monitor to replace my Asus ROG Swift 27" 144 Hz PG278Q, mostly because I play close to my monitor and found 27" to be a bit too big but also because of the 240 Hz refresh rate.

-240 Hz; yes it does make a subtle difference; -Gsync working at 240; -Very thin outer bezel

-Colors slightly off (might be the gamma; -Stand is basically a tripod that takes up an obnoxious footprint; -Stand mount (bezel) on back of monitor has two nubs that makes using a wall mount by Ergotron impossible to use without modifying the wall mount

ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q 24.5" G-sync Gaming Monitor , 1920X1080, 1ms , Native 240Hz , DisplayPort+HDMI+USB3.0, 100x100mm VESA Mount

The monitor is blazingly fast ar 240hz and takes seconds to setup g sync and is calibrated out of the box. Blue light filter is good, no flickering or tearing. One thing to note is this monitor is extremely bright - I use it on 0 brightness.

The Asus ROG Swift PG258Q is a 24.5-inch 1920 x 1080 TN LCD monitor. Now you may be thinking this collection of

240Hz refresh with G-Sync leads to extremely responsive, low latency gaming; Decent design with easy-to-use OSD; Surprisingly good color performance

Expensive for just a 24.5-inch 1080p display; Limited improvements over 144Hz displays
