Great headset, everything was how I expect for the games
Works well and is quite comfortable. Is bigger than most headsets. Had to go find the sonic studio software as there was no disc with it. Unboxing reviews didn't show any software disc. Didn't buy from here as I got hold of a display model.
gaming keyboard from Asus in recent months, and there's now a new Strix headset in the mix as well, the Strix 7.1, which features a driver-free desktop control pod and true (not virtual) 7.1 surround sound. The Strix 7.1 headset is made mostly from plastic, and it's quite bulky.
ASUS has made a big push into the peripheral game in recent years, offering some unique looking products as part of its Strix line up. That owl-eye aesthetic continues with the latest entry in that range, the ROG Strix Wireless gaming headset.
Sounds great playing games; movies or music; Comfortable over long periods thanks to great padding; Wireless function works well over a long range and battery life is close to 10 hours; Good noise cancelling abilities; Unique look; PS4 and Xbox One (with adapter) compatibility
Plastic frame creaking still present from previous Strix headsets; Gets quite warm during frantic play due to large; over the ear design; Thick plastic frame design may not be to everyone's tastes
While the sound was amazing, the mic that comes with it (and is of course unremovable) is of laughable quality. While playing with others, they had to increase my volume to over 200% to just be able to understand me, let alone the actual quality of what they heard was horrid.
great headset good sound but no good for playing games if you have DISCORD the mic dont work
Solid wireless reliability; Intuitive touchpad controls; Excellent comfort; Rich, crisp sound;
Loses out on 7.1 virtual surround sound; No Asus Aura LED system; No wired functionality;
Its was like a too good to be true relationship, this thing DID work great, sound quality was great, pinpoint sounds, mic was clear. Things went downhill fast, squeeling, resetting, crackling, I did everything it asked of me, i installed the firmware updates.
Sound and Mic quality were good for a gaming headset
- Constantly resetting - Squeels - Crackles and resets - Causes PC to freeze during reset
Only had this headset for about 2 months or so.Already the plastic swivel for the left earpiece which has the module for powering the headset and the mic has snapped off exposing the wire.Have tried to get some customer support but the phone message states they are only open from 9-5 monday to...
Finally there is the design of the amp. It looks great and functions pretty well but the speaker adapter is way too short and if you use it your pretty much guaranteed to need a HDMI extension. A real burn after spending $270 on the headset.
Strix pulled off real 7.1 in a way that I think most believe is impossible; BF4 is just amazing and that game alone is the reason I am opting to keep them The Headphone amplifier looks pretty nice
The design of the head band is horrible; It is way too big, the elastic support in the middle was a terrible idea and the headset has a hard time staying still because of that elastic support Consequently Strix decided to make it so the thing clamps so hard on your head that it literally feels like...
