Great Monitor

I was worried about buying a new monitor and did a lot of research before purchasing this one. I wanted a monitor that could handle both photo editing and gaming. This one can. Only had it a couple of months but so far no problems. Great colours and detail for photo editing and gaming is brilliant.

Worked well on Macbook retina

I was looking for something that works well on an MacBook Retina running Windows 7 in Bootcamp and did not want to spend the money for the Apple monitor. I found the HDMI cable included in the box supported the full 2560 x 1440. I also loved the fact that you can rotate the screen.

Amazing!!!

Amazing monitor. I play at max resolution using the display port and have no issues with screen tearing or dead pixels. After playing at these resolutions I will never go back!! I picked it up on sale and it was worth every penny!!

Amazing color; I bought this for gaming and was blown away with the detail while gaming; My roommate played on it one day and went out and bought one the next day; Big upgrade from my old 22 Comes with all cables Multiple inputs for video Audio through the monitor is as expected for speakers built...

To get the full detail you need to use the display port cable; This means you need a decent video card to run it which can get pricey depending on what you want; You may even need to buy a display port adapter for video cards with a mini display port Have to set up the colors initially.

Overpriced for the low quality it is. Specs in no way line up with performance.

Pros: Physical Buttons - All Cables included (HDMI (don't use this with 1440p) DisplayPort, DVI etc - Cons: Extremely expensive. This is a mid-range/bordering on low end monitor. At this price it should be twice as good. - Terrible black levels. Blacks are mid-grey.

Great monitor

I bought one late last year and liked it some much, I got a second one. Make sure your machine can handle the high resolutions. It includes all of the cables. All is great.

ASUS PB278Q WQHD LED PLS Professional Graphics Monitor

For those that found the 1920 x 1080 resolution for the 27-inch ASUS MX279H IPS Monitor too small when it was reviewed earlier this month on Phoronix, today we are looking at the ASUS PB278Q.

ASUS has a number of monitors specifically geared towards photo and video editing, but none with a resolution in excess of Full HD. The PB278Q has exactly that, with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels on a 27-inch display.

ASUS PB278Q Review: An IPS Competitor Emerges

I was very happy to see that Samsung was going to start making their own flat panels with a new technology so that someone could put some pressure on LG to innovate more or reduce prices on their panels, which only helps consumers.

Asus PB278Q

An in depth look at the Professional range 27", high resolution monitor from Asus. The PLS panel, LED backlighting and decent specs make this an interesting choice. How does it perform in our tests?

Great range of connections and stand adjustments (including all cables provided; Very good pixel response times; Very good contrast ratio; the best we've seen from a PLS panel so far

Useless dynamic contrast ratio in practice; PWM used for backlight dimming; Not great default setup; and no sRGB emulation
