I do not find any problems with back light bleeding through as some have noticed. When using the monitor in day to day it really is not even noticeable. Now if I try specifically to get a screen full of one color or medium toned background then I may notice a small amount of variation in light...
I was looking for something that works well on an MacBook Retina running Windows 7 in Bootcamp and did not want to spend the money for the Apple monitor. I found the HDMI cable included in the box supported the full 2560 x 1440. I also loved the fact that you can rotate the screen.
Using this monitor with 2012 Mac Mini. Purchased a mini display port to display port cable through amazon to get full resolution. If not, and you choose to use hdmi, the display becomes enlarged/expanded. The monitor has excellent image quality.
As a professional photographer, I was in search of a monitor that delivered color accuracy in sRGB. This monitor as certainly met my expectations. The built in speakers are great for listening to the news. I wouldn't "rock out" with them, but they serve in an excellent utilitarian role.
I bought one late last year and liked it some much, I got a second one. Make sure your machine can handle the high resolutions. It includes all of the cables. All is great.
Bought this monitor in July of 2013 for over $550, which was a good price at the time. The monitor had a dead pixel or two on arrival but that doesn't bother me. It was otherwise well constructed and did the job. Since the beginning of 2015 I noticed that one of the physical buttons went dead.
got this and a gtx1060 at same time so far this thing looks great and have no problems at all with it. ran at least 3 different things to test for dead pixels and none found. Not sure what else to say really.
good price; good picture; no dead pixels that i can find
none so far
I suspect the current stock/production of these monitors would not have the initial problems I had. For the price today, they are an exceptional monitor. ASUS now is marketing a range of monitors that appear to be derived from this basic model and likely improved.
I have four of these that I bought just over two years ago; Beautiful screens, no bad pixels, no bleed, Display port connections and audio (but I don't need audio but now I have 4)
Serious electronic quality issues: Just over 2 years ago, 2014, I purchased four of these when they cost nearly $1000; Two of them still initialize to the wrong resolution on wake up from sleep or just turning on after the OS (Windows 10, 64) blanked them.
This monitor was an upgrade after the 6-yo Dell U2209WA aimimg this mainly for photo-editing. It is generally nice however suffers from several clear caveats: (1) uneven backlit and colors from darker and yellowish ath the left to pure-white at the right; (2) colors are not as bold and vivd as in my...
