Previously used gen1 which last me for the last 5-6years without any issues, upgraded to this one because my dog destroyed my gen1. Quality seems to be a little bit better, the charging station is a very nice idea and feature.

The sound quality is amazing the mic is meh but it still gets the job done and range is good. But the reason why people get bad range is that its 5ghz not 2.4ghz which means it can't go through walls as easy which results in bad range.

these head set work great, the hearing is clear and mic has no problem transmitting my voice, if I forget to put it back on the platform for charging after a game, no big deal, but if I forget after 3 times then no game until head phone gets charged, I am defiantly happy with this head set.

I purchased the Astro A50 Gen 3 recently. I have previously owned the Astro A50 Gen 1, in addition to headsets made by Turtle Beach and LucidSound. I can say with certainty that the A50 Gen 3 blows other gaming headsets away. The audio quality is excellent.. The battery life is also very good.
