Astro A20 Wireless Gen 2 review

Thanks to its incredible flexibility, mid-range audio and ease-of-use, the Astro A20 remains a great choice for gamers. However, there are a few other alternatives that offer better comfort, virtual surround sound and longer battery life for only a little bit more money.

Plug and play design; Fantastic mid-range audio; Lift-to-mute microphone; Multiplatform (with two dongles);

Rubber padding on bridge; Not a great audio range; No Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack; Middling battery life

Good sound. No software.

Great sound, very light, and pretty comfortable. The instructions that are provided are basically useless, no software to offer customisation (doesn't work with astro command center). Often forgets it's paired to the receiver to have to keep unplugging it to reset.

Astro A20 gen 2 is not bad at all.

I honestly like this headset, it's great on PS4/5 and PC either gaming or watching movies/videos. I would recommend if you're buying a new headset but if you all ready have an Astro A20 it's not worth upgrading for Gen 2.

It’s not all compatible with ps5

The headset has comfy ear cups and a uncomfortable head band, but the headset sounds really good and is extremely loud, great for drowning out sounds around you, but the voice/chat button doesn’t work although u can change it from the quick menu, but it makes the buttons useless and annoying bc u can’t use the buttons and when u turn off your headset for ps5, the Audio is still set to the headset and doesn’t switch over to the TV like with the ps gold headset and the ps5 doesn’t show the battery life of the headset

Astro Gaming A20 Wireless Gen 2 Headset Review

Astro Gaming is perhaps best known for its pricey, high-end A40 and A50 gaming headsets, but the company offers more affordable choices, too. The A20 is the company’s economical wireless headset, and it’s been refreshed for use with the newest game consoles. These $119.99 cans come in a PlayStation version that works with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and in an Xbox version that’s compatible with the Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. If you own both next-gen systems, you can use the headset with both consoles by purchasing an extra transmitter for $19.99. Overall, the A20 Gen 2 boasts robust wireless sound quality, especially for its price, but it could use more padding for increased comfort.The A20 Gen 2's Design The A20 Gen 2 is reminiscent of the A10 headset, just wireless and a bit larger. The square-shaped earcups sit on plastic struts that let them pivot up and down, struts that connect to a wide plastic headband with a soft rubber underside. The earpads are soft foam cov...

The Astro Gaming A20 is a gaming headset that easily works with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. It boasts strong audio chops and wireless functionality at a good price, but could use additional headband padding.

Good sound quality; Solid microphone; Works with PC, PlayStation, and Xbox (cross-console if you buy an extra transmitter)

Slightly stiff feel, especially across the top of the head; If you get an extra transmitter, headset needs to be paired each time you switch consoles
