Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

In the growing lineup of new Apple Watches, I see only two options worth considering of the three: the Series 6 and Series 3. There are two main reasons to buy an Apple Watch: health and fitness or a fun complimentary phone gadget. Those both leave the Apple Watch SE in a strange place.

Quicker-charging battery with same all-day life., Brighter outdoor display., Sleek new colors., Same great tracking abilities with a new sensor for SpO2 and the tried-and-true ECG., More activity tracking modes added to an already long list.

Sleep tracking is less detailed than competitors' while being no better than any of them., Activity trends could still use more guidance., Family Setup seems rather pointless; give us Android phone compatibility!, Aging looks, even with new colors., Still an expensive watch.

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

The Apple Watch Series 6 boasts plentiful features that focus on health tracking and wellness. While it's an exceptional fitness tracker that comes with hundreds of app options to optimize your needs, it's not ideal for GPS tracking as its accuracy isn't as good in covered areas.

Excellent and numerous features, integrates across software platforms easily, easy to set up and use, sleek and low profile, quick updates

Poor battery life (both smartwatch and GPS settings), inconsistent GPS accuracy, difficult to find some features, can only be used with an iPhone

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

Weirdly, the fact that the Apple Watch Series 6 is the very best smartwatch by a huge margin feels anticlimactic. That’s probably because the same was true of the Series 5, the Series 4, and even the Series 3.

Big, bright display, Solid ecosystem of third-party complications, Built-in sleep tracking

Still no third-party watch faces, Still no Android phone support, Blood oxygen monitoring is unreliable.

“The Apple Watch Series 6 is the most complete smartwatch package you can buy, and if you want the very best of everything Apple's wearable offers, it's the one to get.”

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

Apple debuted the new Apple Watch Series 6 earlier this month and I've been testing out the new (PRODUCT)RED 44mm GPS model. At first glance it doesn't seem much different than the Apple Watch Series 5 , but there's more than meets the eye.

Gorgeous, refined hardware, Bright and useful always-on mode, Blood oxygen sensor, Sleep tracking capability, Excellent third party application support

Expensive, Battery life about the same as Series 5, Limited sleep details

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

The Apple Watch Series 6 is the best version of the best smartwatch in the world. But it might not be the right device for you. The classier materials, new colors and always-on display are key reasons to buy, as are ECG and SpO2 for those looking for a health watch.

SpO2 and ECG, New colors, The best version of the best smartwatch

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

Today’s powerful GPS watches have all the sport-specific features to track every stride on the roads, but they’re also packed with other sensors and technology to keep you connected the rest of the day, too.

“Always on” screen stays on without gestures, Recharges quickly, GPS accuracy is as good as every other watch here, Simple, intuitive maps, Hill detection mode, Highly detailed maps, Up to 100 hours of run tracking, Heart rate monitoring, Long battery life, Virtual pay, Syncs with Spotify to store...

Battery drains quickly when using Bluetooth, GPS, and data, Maps don’t show street names, Maps interface a little clunky, Expensive, One color, Short battery life when using GPS and playing music, No onboard music storage, Screen can be unresponsive at times

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

The Apple Watch Series 6 isn’t a huge upgrade over the Series 5, but it does enough to keep Apple’s wearable firmly in the lead.

New colors add newness to a timeless design, Excellent mix of foreground and background features, Impressive array of features and sensors

Battery life hasn’t improved, On-demand blood-oxygen readings are finicky

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

When it comes to smartwatches, it’s Apple against the world. It’s not that there aren’t plenty of other products to choose from — it’s more that the company has just utterly dominated the space to such a point that any other device is relegated to the realm of “Apple Watch alternatives.

Apple Watch S6 CEL, 44mm Silver SS Case w White Sport Bd - Rglr M09D3X/A review

Almost all the reviews of the Apple Watch Series 6 say the same thing: Yeah, it’s great, but it’s an incremental upgrade, and if you already have a Series 5, skip the upgrade. That’s sage advice, I guess, especially in the middle of a crushing pandemic that’s ruined the economy, left millions...
