I have recently move to Sony after 16+ years as a pro Canon user. I sold my first canon lens - the 24-70 f.8 L when moving to Sony. The Sony lens is incredible sharp and along with the eye focus, is amazing. Id recommend this lens to everyone as a base lens!

I have heard that there is a lot of sample variation in this lens but my copy was perfect. Very sharp in the center even wide open. A little softer in the corners but never unusable. OSS works great. Terrific colors and Micro Contrast.

I love this focal range but not this lens. I'm shooting at ISO's of 500 and 800 and I'm still getting noisy images, way more noise than I feel one should get at these ISO's. Sony has really set a new precedent with their GM glass and this really showcases it. They've somehow figured out how to encapsulate all of the desirable optical qualities you'd get with a very good prime into a zoom.

Responsive lens with a solid feel. I use it as my go-to lens for 75% of my professional shooting.

It's hard to describe how much I like the A7r - but one of the things that comes with it is that punishing 36MP sensor. I knew in my heart that a mid-level (but premium priced) zoom lens would not be perfect - but my hopes were high.

I have decided to return this product but than i realised that the quality of it is brilliant. Indeed, is big for my a7 r lll but, it doesn't matter now for me. The image quality is perfect. I was impress by the fast delivery of it too.

Being in transition from Nikon to Sony; I was hoping to use the Commlite adaptor on my 24-70E f2.8 VR as it is an amazing lens. However, the adaptor proved next to useless, particularly as the recent upgrade excluded E lines!! So my 24-70 was sold as soon as I could obtain the GM.

Even with IS this lens is not quick enough. A good street lens for sunny days, but not real useful after dusk. For the money I expect more. Unfortunately, Sony can't seem to master a fast variable focus lens. While their bodies are affordable the lenses are over priced.

As advertised. Produces sharp images with good colour. Solidly built and well made with attention to detail.
