When it was announced, the AX100 was a one-of-a-kind product. In a few ways, it still is. However, its most interesting new trick can be accomplished by less expensive, more flexible devices.

Pros: Solid Built Great pro-level features Video quality is beyond amazing Cons: Like most cameras it hunts for focus in certain low light conditions. The location of the focus assist button is next to impossible to reach while recording. Whoever designed that location should be fired.
I'm using a Patriot LX 128GB card and it works fine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220756 4K is just under 1GB per minute so support for a 128GB card is not trivial. Using a Kenyon Labs KS-2+2 gyro to keep it hand-held steady, important when shooting 4K.
Pro quality at a consumer price; The ultimate accessory to my 4K monitor! Full spectrum of auto and manual controls to rival any pro camera; Complete accessory package; Remote control is nice (camera/gyro in one hand, control in the other)
Just nits; The LCD isn't 4K (but that would be overkill/unnoticable for a 4" display); Hard to see it in direct sun (Duh) and doesn't like polarized sunglasses (Duh again); Eyepiece is also low resolution; Knew this all up front
As a recently retired broadcast cameraman with a restricted budget, I spent 6 months trying every camera available within a £1500 price range, and came to realise that the Sony AX100 far outstrips its competitors.
Battery has over 2 hours of capacity when used with CX-760 & 900 cameras. Because of larger capacity, it takes longer to fully charge on my Travel Charger and longer for the charge status progress indicator to show status.
Definitely Sony alway makes good product. The Hand Steady Cam is not ready that good as been marketed and the mice, you know you always got get something better on this type of cameras.
Battery Power is between 1 hr 33 min and 2 Hours, depending on what features you use. Build quality is smooth, and the CMOS sensor is 1 inch in size. so you get a lot of quality and color gradient + Options to adjust. Some of the button layouts are....unnerving.
Compact; Build quality; Battery life; Screen size

Waste for money poor 4k video recording Don't buy please buy Panasonic 991 it is good for money.go for it.
I bought this camera to replace an older Canon HD camera I picked up in 2012. I mostly do still photography with Nikon DSLR's, but I like to have a good video camera lying around to shoot with occasionally.
