Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm F4 Macro O.I.S. Review

The Lumix S 24-105mm F4 ($1,299.99) is Panasonic's first standard zoom for its full-frame mirrorless camera system. It's an optically stabilized lens (it works in conjunction with in-camera stabilization) with a wide to short telephoto coverage range, a good macro capability, and strong—but not outstanding—optical quality. At press time it's the most sensible standard zoom for most L-mount customers, as the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. is a very expensive alternative. Standard Zoom The 24-105mm is considered a standard zoom lens. It has a good range of coverage, grabbing wide-angle views at 24mm and zooming in close enough to capture portraits with a nice, blurred background. It's one of a pair of standard zooms currently available for L-mount cameras.
