True to its roots, this new PEN combines power and portability.
Austin turned out to be an awesome place to take pictures with the new Pen-F. Olympus made sure there was no shortage of subjects from day one. When left to my own devices, I found subjects to photograph at every turn. How does the Olympus Pen-F compare to other mirrorless cameras? Very favorably.
This PEN is F-in’ mighty
Gorgeous design, Compact and sturdy, Highly customisable control setup
Not a huge improvement over the cheaper E-M5 II
The gorgeous new Olympus PEN-F takes all of the latest cutting-edge features from the company's OM-D range, throws in a brand new 20-megapixel sensor, and and houses them inside one of the most beautifully realised camera bodies that we've ever had the pleasure to use.
The PEN F is a fashionable as it is functional. Pairing many of the same guts found in the enthusiast OM-D E-M5 II with a brand-new 20MP sensor, the PEN F is a highly capable shooter offering good image quality and decent video quality.
Style-conscious shooters wanting a camera that looks as good as it performs. The PEN F's articulating touchscreen in particular, coupled with its abilities to accurately use face detect make it a good choice for candid shooters or street photographers.
Sports and action shooter seeking a camera that can both fire bursts, while maintaining focus on a moving subject. Hard-core videographers. Anyone who wants to affix anything other than a prime lens.
The Olympus PEN-F is a stylish compact system camera, that backs up stylish design with advanced photographic features that includes a unique high resolution mode that can produce 50 megapixel images from the new 20 megapixel sensor.
Though the PEN-F is pricey, Olympus packed a lot of features and controls into the retro-styled body of the camera, and it offers great image and video quality.
Cool retro design, Strong 20-megapixel image quality with excellent detail and bright, clean color, Excellent full-HD video, Customizable buttons
Has trouble focusing in low light, Can't record 4K video
