Olympus OM-D E-M5

After having updated its 35mm Pen cameras for the digital age, Olympus is trying the same trick with its legendary OM SLRs. While the SLR-style optical viewfinder has been ditched, the OM-D E-M5 'recycles' plenty of the...

Over the past year there has been an influx of retro-styled cameras making their way onto the market; now it's the turn of Olympus to enter the ring with the film SLR-inspired Olympus OM-D E-M5.

Many words have been printed about this diminutive camera and you've no doubt read all the technical discussion. But what can you DO with one Ergonomics: Oly were always pretty good with ergonomics - more shooting, less fiddling and the EM-5 is great, given the size restraints.

Astonishing camera

Overall a stellar package with the kit lens. The obvious items are that this is a really small package for SLR capabilities. I get really sharp photos overall and very little noise in low light.

Sharp photos; great low light; beautiful viewfinder; touchscreen focusing; weather sealed

Price; would like brighter kit lens

Best camera I ever owned

I belong to a photography club were we go on monthly photo shoots which some of them have to be existing light no flash. The last one was very dark with only limited lighting from windows and fluorescent. I had to use a high ISO and the results were great.

Easy to Use; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Battery Life; Good in Low Light; Great Resolution; Large Clear LCD; Small / Compact

Don't buy from this seller. As soon as I started shooting with it and really testing it out the dang thing keeps locking up on me. Never had any problems with any of my canons EVER and I shoot everyday. ALOT. Bought this to travel with and nope.

I have only had the E-M5 for a week but I think I have really put it to the test. The first thing I noticed like everyone else is how small the E-M5 is. It is about as small as I want a camera to be. Any smaller and I don't think I could work with it well.

Easy to use; Beautiful Olympus colors; Low noise (for Olympus); Lightweight

Viewfinder in the center of the camera

Olympus OM-D E-M5

In 2008, Olympus wowed photographers with a retro-styled prototype of what would become its first Micro Four Thirds PEN camera , the E-P1 ($799.99, 3.5 stars). In the years since, the company has refined the PEN designs, adding models that support optional EVFs and other accessories like the...
