Olympus OM-D E-M5 Review

Olympus definitely has a winner on its hand with this mirrorless ILC. It has a great set of features, a dedicated electronic viewfinder - which is a boon, great ergonomics, beautiful image quality, impressive low light performance among other things. It is priced at a whopping Rs.

Dedicated electronic viewfinder; Great ergonomics; Beautiful image quality; Impressive low light performance

Expensive

Olympus OM-D E-M5 review

Since the introduction of the Olympus Pen E-P1 in June 2009, the compact system camera (CSC) has taken the world by storm. The compact-sized Pen E-P1 was a clear homage to the original Olympus Pen series – a half-frame camera that spanned more than two decades – but with the added benefit of digital...

A very nice camera bag!

I hesitated strongly for a long time before I purchased this camera bag. Why Because of the inconsistant reviews written about it. I to enjoy purchasing the finest of thing's as most do,however it is obvious to me that some expect much more for less.

Unbelievable package

57 year old enthusiast. Have owned a massive 6 lb SLR with a 35-105 Zoom that was so heavy it took the fun out of photography. Moved to 35mm point and shoots and loved it. Got into digital with the original Sony Mavica (media was small 1.4mb floppies - good for 20 pics!).

Size; Weight; Build; Features; Appearance; Weather sealed; Flexibility; Customizability; Adapters; Fantastic pictures; Small with great viewfinder; Art filters; Good software; Solid construction; Included flash

no built in flash; Complex if you want to do more than just use Auto

Awesome camera!

A five star so far. I've been using Olympus micro 4/3 equipment for a couple of years and have been very happy with it. I needed something with a built in viewfinder so I could use it with my studio equipment. Have been very happy with this one. Image quality, built, ergonomics all excellent.

Easy to Use; Good in Low Light; Great Resolution; Large Clear LCD; Small / Compact

Short Battery Life

Olympus OM-D E-M5 is a great camera for the great outdoors

Much as it did when launching the PEN series of Micro Four Thirds cameras, Olympus trots out another beloved film brand and updates it for the digital age. This time out, though, Olympus frames enthusiasts squarely in the scene.

A dust-and-weather-sealed design distinguishes the Olympus OM-D E-M5 from the rest of the interchangeable-lens crowd; and its class-leading performance doesn't hurt; either.

The photo quality is solid; but not outstanding; especially if you shoot only JPEG

Olympus OM-D EM-5 review

Olympus and Panasonic jointly developed the Micro Four Thirds system that kick-started the compact system camera (CSC) movement, but Olympus's early PEN cameras were overshadowed by the sprightlier performance of Panasonic's G series and, later, the higher image quality of Sony's NEX range.

the omd

The omd was probably one of the best mirrorless cameras when it first came out .... i have 2 systems the mfts and the leica .. i must say the omd though not as good as a leica is far superior to most crop sensor mirrorles including the cannon eos m which is a lot slower than the omd ( infact its one...

great camera just needs price fixing as this camera is two years old and the newer replacement EM10 is only very slightly more expensive.

A big step forward at its time

Have had this camera for one-and-a-half years now. It was a revolution in mirrorless cameras (and photography in general) when it first came out. I also have a Nikon D7000, but use this one more due to sheer portability.
