Nikon D7000 digital SLR camera

The Nikon D7000 combines good usability and handling with excellent image quality in addition to a versatile ISO range. If you're looking to buy a digital SLR but want a camera that's more capable than the current crop of entry-level offerings, we think this is a great option - in our opinion the...

Excellent image quality (including at high ISOs); excellent quality 1080p video mode; plenty of professional-level features

No histogram; exposure indicator or aperture adjustment during live view mode; some shooting controls are not laid out in an intuitive fashion

[REVIEW-NIKON D7000 DSLR]

This 16 megapixel DSLR sits above the D90 in Nikon's line-up. The rugged magnesium alloy body shell, previously only a feature of Nikon's professional cameras, houses a 100% viewfinder, two SD card slots (for double capacity or for recording jpeg on one and RAW on the other), a high resolution 7.5cm...

The image quality is what we have come to expect, brilliant even up in the high ISO range; In some ways we regard this as a better camera than our more expensive D300; The Active D-Lighting really does help preserve the detail in shadows and highlights

The D7000 only has a three exposure auto bracket which is mean compared with the nine exposure set of the D300; Presumably this is a firmware function that could be easily and cheaply changed

Nikon D7000

Nikon's widely anticipated D7000 slots into the company's range between the popular D90 and D300s models. A tempting upgrade for D90 owners, it features a 16.2-megapixel (effective) sensor, new EXPEED 2 image processor and expanded sensitivity range that reaches up to ISO 25,600.

Nikon D7000 Digital Camera Review

When Nikon launch its D90 some two and a half years ago, it implemented many aspects that have now become expected from the prosumer market. Outstanding low light performance combined with speed and efficiency in auto focusing and metering could only be found in the professional and semi-pro range...

Nikon D7000

With the release of the D7000, Nikon created a new category in its broad DSLR line. The D7000 ($1799) offers a mid-range alternative to the higher end D300s, and the slightly-long-in-the-tooth but more affordable D90 (released in 2008).

Nikon D7000 – Review

Kelly Lynch tests Nikon's latest mid-level DSLR Nikon's latest addition to its digital SLR family is the D7000, a welcome upgrade from the D90. With plenty of advances on its predecessor, the mid-range DX-format camera sits between the D90 and D300s.

Good weight; High tech specs; Good images; Two SD card slots

Needed in-depth look at manual before using; Ergonomic issues moving lower dial; Allows shots to be taken without SD card inserted

Nikon D7000: DX Format, 16.2 MP, And HD Video

Another tip of the hat goes to Nikon for providing an instruction book, hefty tome though it is, as others have eschewed this course, opting instead for PDFing CD manuals, something you cannot easily consult when it's raining out and you really want to figure out how to do an auto bracket on the

Nikon D7000 DSLR Review

If you've moved beyond point-and-shoots but aren't quite ready to make the jump to a pro-level DSLR, Nikon's impressive new D7000 wants to be your go-to shooter. The D7000 takes over for the old D90, but it also manages to compete well with the D300S, the next model up.
