This will probably be the last camera I ever buy but not because it is perfect and has everything I will ever likely need. This camera replaced a Sanyo Xacti that was awarded to me for 20 years' service by my former employer. That was 6 years ago.

Best quality snaps from a compact camera that I have seen. Very robust and idiot proof.

The Nikon Coolpix S9300 is definite performer. Its 18x optical zoom coupled up with the lens based vibration reduction system allow for great hand-held shots (provided there is enough light). The build quality is superb and for those who like bells and whistles, there's even a GPS chip.

I wanted another camera that has the zoom power, picture quality but not the weight to carry around on some of our travel adventures.

The Nikon Coolpix S9300 is an excellent choice if you want a camera that's easy to use, with a sufficiently powerful zoom and a high enough resolution to offer maximum flexibility. If you're looking for a degree of manual control though, it will feel a little limiting.

Ultimately, the Nikon S9300 digital camera does little to stand out in the travel zoom category. Image quality, which is just okay, is hurt further by the frustratingly unreliable focus system.

When in need of a new digital camera, I looked for a durable, high quality camera with a good zoom. As a student with a very limited budget, the refurbished Nikon Coolpix s9300 was absolutely perfect!
