Dell P2424HT review: An office monitor built for touch

Windows’ touchscreen support has improved radically since the bad-old-days of Windows 8, and while it’s still not a replacement for a mouse in all situations, it works well with modern apps and websites (which tend to have a mobile-friendly design). Unfortunately, those who prefer a desktop PC often can’t take advantage of Windows’ touch functionality—but Dell’s P2424HT touchscreen monitor makes it an option.

Dell’s P2424HT fuses touchscreen functionality with great connectivity in an alluring but expensive home office display.

Easy-to-use touchscreen; Unique tilt stand; Excellent USB-C connectivity; Good contrast ratio;

Expensive for its size and resolution; Image quality is good, but not amazing; No Adaptive Sync or HDR;

Dell 24 Touch USB-C Hub Monitor (P2424HT) Review

The Dell 24 Touch USB-C Hub Monitor (P2424HT) feels like it's two monitors rolled into one. The P2424HT ($519.99) is a productivity monitor with a USB hub and all the ports you would expect from a laptop docking station. It has a responsive, gesture-based touch screen that is easy to manipulate with your fingers. Its stand is ergonomically flexible, so you can in effect switch it from a desktop monitor into a tablet-like mode. Its brightness, contrast, and color coverage are all we could have asked for. The P2424HT is expensive for a 24-inch monitor—though Dell currently sells it for a discount at $414.99, well below the MSRP—but it's quite decently priced when you factor in its connectivity, ergonomics, and uncommon touch functionality.The Design: Multi-Touch Screen, Flexible Stand, Connectivity Galore The Dell P2424HT has a 23.8-inch screen (measured diagonally) with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels—also known as 1080p or full HD (FHD). The screen uses in-plane switching (I...

The Dell P2424HT has nearly everything you could want from a 24-inch touch-screen desktop monitor, including an articulating stand, a USB hub, and good contrast and color coverage.

Responsive touch screen; Articulating stand; Ethernet connectivity; USB hub; 90-watt power delivery; Bright, with excellent contrast and full sRGB color coverage

Limited to full HD (no 4K option); Lacks stylus for touch screen
