Quite Satisfied

I own the 24-70 2.8L and the 24 - 105 4.0L. my biggest gripe has been the the lack of sharpness on the edges at the widest angle at 24 mm, as well as the darkness around the edges during indoor group shooting.

Fast auto-focus; Superior build quality; Super-sharp images; worth the money

Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM

The Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM is a capable but pricey ultra wideangle prime that will appeal most to landscape and reportage photographers looking for a lightweight and responsive lens.

Gary Wolstenholme reviews the prime, wide-angle Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM lens.

Good build quality; Lightweight; Image Stabilisation; Excellent sharpness; Focuses close

Expensive; Susceptible to flare and no hood is supplied as standard; Falloff at maximum aperture

Great lens to have for both aps-c & ff sensor DSLR

This lens is light, small, high build quality and can be a great walking around lens for both aps-c and full frame sensor camera. It's great for landscape on full frame camera and also good at hand held shooting in low light condition because of the 4 stop IS system and f2.8 large aperture.

Superior build quality; Super-sharp images; Fast auto-focus

Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens Review

The Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens delivers fast and accurate AF, very good image quality and image stabilization in a light, compact and moderately-priced package. This of course sounds great - and truth is, I really like this lens.

Handling and features This brand new wide angle prime lens from Canon sports a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture, an ultrasonic focus motor and image stabilisation. This lens is currently available for around £750. Is it really worth the expense?

Lens Test: Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM

The widest of Canon's recent barrage of wide-angle, full-frame prime lenses, this 24mm f/2.8 IS USM ($807, street)-along with the 28mm f/2.8, and new 35mm f/2-forms a three-tiered team, notable for compact proportions, reasonable pricing, and image stabilization across the board.

The inimitable ability to hand hold for prolonged shutter durations ushers in a whole new and exciting world of creative potential for long exposures in poor light conditions. Also, the lens delivers an incredibly sharp performance, even at f/2. 8.
